We are very proud to wish good luck to our swimmers who have been with Hamilton Aquatics for a combined total of 40 years, who move on to the next phase of their academic and swimming journey.
British National Champion and English representative, Joe Page has been on a gap year working and training in Dubai this year. From September, Joe will be joining Yale University where he will train in their top squad and balance academics at the highest level.
Argentina National medalist and representative Daniela Gonzalez Pinero will be joining Amherst College where she can continue to perform highly academically and balance her swimming to a competitive level.
Maltese National Record Holder, Francesca Falzon Young will be joining the famous USA National Team coach Dave Marsh at the University Of California San Diego, where she will study at a high level but continue her track as an international swimmer for Malta, being surrounded by some extremely fast international swimmers who will challenge her in training and competition.
Cameron Matthews has secured his place at one of the best University’s in the world at the famous Ivy League, Princeton University, where he will continue to thrive academically and take his swimming to the next level in the pool. Cameron will continue to perform at South African national level as well as take on some short course yards racing in a new experience.
All four swimmers follow on from Jakub Karl (Indiana University), Lewis Burras (University Of Southern Carolina) and Lucy Agnew (UCLA) who have all gone on to represent their respective university’s at the highest level and continue to excel academically.
This is a fantastic demonstration that hard work, commitment, great coaching, high academic achievement and the correct balance between everything can result in rewards at the highest level. We wish all of our swimmers the best of luck in their next journey and we will miss them!
