With music, nose clips and big smiles, we coach all underwater ballerinas how to sync and swim with Synquatics, our artistic swimming programme! Artistic swimming is a hybrid form of swimming, dance and gymnastics, combining arm and leg movements to music in the water. Artistic swimming demands water strength and requires great skills; endurance, flexibility, grace, artistry and precise timing. Also, exceptional breath control is important when upside down doing movements under the water.
Synquatics is all about creating a supportive team environment through the involvement of all teammates, parents and coaches, which leads to swimmers who are committed to their swimming and enjoy challenging themselves to perfect new skills.
Through high quality professional training that focuses on technique, we aim is to create strong competitive artistic swimmers and teams. Swimmers can compete as a solo, duet, trio, team and combo.
HOW TO GET STARTED?
You can start with us from as young as 5, but it’s important that you are already a strong swimmer.
To book a free trial by email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. This free trial gives our coaches an opportunity to assess the swimming ability and assign an appropriate squad that is best suited for your child’s development.
Before you book your trial, we suggest you get familiar with our squad pathways below.
This is the ideal environment where the basic skills needed to perform artistic swimming in a fun non-competitive environment are introduced. The focus is on learning to understand the ‘feel’ of the water, and movement to music, whilst having lots of fun. Swimmers starting in this group are usually 5-8 years old, depending on their swimming abilities.
Here we build on the basic skills needed to perform synchro in a fun non-competitive environment before deciding which pathway to pursue in the future within the Synquatics academy. Swimmers range between 6-12 years old.
This is designed for those swimmers between 10 and 18 years old, who want to practice the sport in order to improve and develop challenging skills abilities in a recreational atmosphere. Land training is introduced here to support flexibility and strength development. There are local competition opportunities if swimmers wish to get involved.
This pathway is created for those who want to improve and master the sport and their skills, with aspirations of being competitive in Artistic Swimming both locally and internationally. Land training steps up a level to support the aquatic training. Most swimmers join this pathway between 8 and 18 years old, but technically advanced swimmers from 6 to 8 years may also be offered a place.
Selected committed athletes with the main goal of developing the highest possible standard within our academy are invited into the Performance Pathway. These athletes have the potential to represent Synquatics and their country in Artistic Swimming at the highest level. Training is supported by services such as video analysis, specific land training sessions and psychological support.
