On the weekend of 19-21 June Anouque Berghuis competed in the Dutch National Championships in Amsterdam.
Anouque qualified for 7 events based on her successes with Hamilton over the past 6 months in the. In each event Anouque was competing against 75 girls other girls born in 1996, the winners of which could potentially place themselves on the team for the European championships.
On her best event Anouque placed 3rd overall after PB’ing by 6 seconds in one of the toughest events on the program, the 200 butterfly. Anouques other top 10 placings came on the first day with a 9th place in the 400 Free and the second day a 10th place for the 200 Free.
All in all, she improved 6 personal bests with a 6 seconds improvement for the 200 fly with all of her other events with a sizable improvement.
Compliments to Anouque, her guest coach in Holland, who guided her the last week before the event in Holland, and all of her hard work and commitment driving from Abu Dhabi 4 times each week. Great job Anouque. |
