The first ever short course Spring Cup was organized by H2O the new and promising swim club, based in the Doha American School. The two day event was a great success for all participants. The facilities were excellent, the organization flawless and the accommodation and transportation meticulous.
Apart from Hamilton Aquatics, also Speedo Swim Squads and Active Sports Swimming Academy, all from the UAE, participated in this event. Kuwait participated with two teams, Doha with the Doha Dolphins and of course H2O while also Algeria was presented with the WAT club.
Although Hamilton’s’ team was small, only one swimmer, the placing was number 7 out of the 10 participating teams.
Anouque registered for 9 events for which she gained 4 gold, 5 silver and one bronze for the relays. For the first time in her swim career Anouque broke the 5 minutes on the 400 Freestyle with a time of 4.55.51 min. Her overall placing was second in her age category with 62 points, only 2 points behind winner Grace Vertigans.
The atmosphere was great, the facilities were first class and an invitation from H2O for a long course meet in October is in the pipeline.
